Not least is Albania fascinating its visitors because of the fact that still very little is known about the small country which inhabitants belong to the oldest civilized people of Europe. This country exerts a special attraction force. On the one hand because of the original, wild beauty of the landscape which shows up unfriendly precipitous and rarely fascinating at the same time and on the other hand because of the proverbial hospitality of its warm-hearted people.
The youngest history of the country has not contributed to arousing travel interest. But the years of turbulences and insecurity are gone long since. Today you will come across an optimistic mood, a very positive attitude on life and in the face of all economic adversity, an invincible dynamic, life force and joie de vivre.
The fascination of landscape, the hospitality, the excellent cuisine and not the least the several historical sites, witnesses of the eventful history of the country are a good reason to come to know this country and to reveal the last secret of Europe!

DAY 1

Airport – Tirana

Arrival in Albania. After arrival at Tirana, the capital city of Albania, you will be free to have rest at the hotel to adjust time difference or stroll around nearby.

DAY 2

Tirana

We will spend the whole day visiting Tirana which was built by a Turkish general in the early 17th century. It has been developed into a commercial centre, later. First you are going to see the Scanderbeg Square, the best place to experience local life. On the square stands the sculpture of our national hero Scanderbeg. Then we will go to visit one of the oldest buildings-Mosque of Ethem Bey and the biggest museum-National Museum of History. The most special arrangement today is that the lunch will be served in Petrela Castle during the visiting.

DAY 3

Tirana – Lezha – Shkodra

We will go northwest to Lezha to see mausoleum of Skanderbeg and castles. Then you will head to Shkodra, one of the oldest cities in Balkans. Shkodra was the metropolis of Illyrian. Here we are going to visit the old bazaar, the cathedral and the mosque. At last, we will head to visit the Rozafa castle.

DAY 4

Shkodra – Thethi

Today we will travel to Thethi by bus. Thethi is a national park where millions of wolves, leopard cats, bears, goshawks and other wildings live. Besides, there are beautiful grasslands, forests, rivers and hills. Meanwhile, we will also pay a visit to the local traditional villages with its beautiful waterfalls.

DAY 5

Thethi – Kruja – Durres

We will leave for one of the most important towns-Kruja to see Skanderbeg Museum, castles and grand bazaars. Then we will head to the harbor city Durres. Durres is one of the oldest (founded in 627 B.C.) and most important cities in Albania. We take a sightseeing tour of the Amphitheatre situated in the middle of the modern city in an inhabited area, and the Archaeological museum rich in artifacts found in the city and its suburbs.

DAY 6

Durret – Berat

Transfer to the ancient city Berat in the morning. It is located in the southern and was the strategically important area in ancient time. It is also known as “museum city” for lots of cultural relics in middle ages. Now it is listed into the World Heritage by UNESCO. We visit the Castle and the Onufri Museum. Berat castle is of particular interest as people still live within its walls in their traditional houses, as have their ancestors for centuries. The castle used to have over many churches of which 7 still remain including one turned into Onufri Museum. Onufri was an Albanian Icon master painter of the 16th century who painted many orthodox churches in Albania and Greece. At last, you will also visit the local vineyard and taste good wine.

DAY 7

Berat – Apollonia – Vlora

Today’s tour will begin with the visit of Apollonia, an ancient city tracing back to the 6th century BC. The ancient city of Apollonia is situated on the famous Via Egnatia – one of the most important cities in Roman times. The Roman Emperor Augustus Octavian studied here. Then we will move to Vlora, which is a city surrounded by the mountains and to be considered as a bridge link the trading between East and West. Afterwards we continue to Vlora where we visit the Independence Museum, situated in the original house where the first Independent Albanian Government had its offices. Afternoon & evening at leisure.

DAY 8

Vlora – Saranda

On the way to Saranda, we will visit Ali Pasha Tepelene’s castle in Porto Palermo, which is located in a beautiful island. Then we will directly go to Saranda driving on the spectacular Albanian Riviera looking down at the Ionian Sea. Breathtaking sceneries await us at the Llogara pass – 1000 m above sea level.

DAY 9

Saranda – Butrint

After breakfast we visit the ancient city of Butrint. The city was first settled by Greek colonists and was continuously inhabited for centuries forming archaeological layers of passing civilizations. Butrint was the most important place in the history and now it is listed into the World Heritage by UNESCO. There lived human being in prehistoric age and the remains left show different styles and features of every period. Here you can see old walls, churches and acropolis. After that, we will return to Saranda to see Monastery of Forty Saints. In the evening, the dinner will be served in Lekuresi Fortress.

DAY 10

Saranda – Gjirokastra

Today we will drive eastward to Gjirokastra. On the way, you can see the beautiful scenery beside Blue Eye pool. When you arrive in Gjirokastra, we are going to visit the local museum and the birth place of Enver Hoxha, the Albanian dictator.

DAY 11

Gjirokastra – Tepelena – Permet – Korce

Transfer to Tepelena to visit the local castles and ancient settlement of Antigonea. Then continue the journey to Permet, where is famous for the local wine. After lunch here, we will proceed to Korce by bus in the afternoon.

DAY 12

Korce – Voskopoja – Pogradec

Today, we will visit the first Albanian school in Korce. Then we will go to Voskopoja to see local churches and cloisters. Finally we will get to Pogradec beside Lake Ohrid.

DAY 13

Pogradec – Elbasan – Tirana

In the morning we will tour around Lake Ohrid and then go to Elbasan where we make a short stop and have a coffee in the castle. After the visit, we will return to Tirana. In the afternoon we visit Dajti Mountain by cable car.

DAY 14

Tirana – Airport

Transfer to the airport for the departure flight and put an end to this memorable tour. End of our service.
